Youth for Tourism

Promoting social inclusion, volunteering and addressing unemployment among youth, aiming at their professional growth in the field of tourism and strengthening their impact on the community.

Through the project

Youth for Tourism is a project dedicated to the promotion of social inclusion, volunteering and addressing youth employment issues in the region of Spille. Through this project, PROGRESS Foundation aims to contribute to the participants' professional growth in the field of tourism and strengthening their impact on the community of Spille region.

Objectives

Objective 1

Creating and structuring a group of 30 young people who will work alongside the project for the promotion of
the potential for the local tourism and encourage environmental behavior.

Objective 2

Building and Increasing the professional capacities for young people as an important measurement for social
inclusion.

Objective 3

Promoting the tourism of the area as an employment and self-employment opportunity for the young people.

Main Activities

Opening ceremony

On 24 July 2020, PROGRESS Foundation organised the opening ceremony of the “Youth for Tourism” project. This project is part of the ProSeed program, and is funded by GIZ Albania. The opening ceremony took place at “Kompleksi Albatros” in Spille. The event was attended by the projects collaborator such as: Representatives of the Municipality of Rrogozhina, Representatives of the Local Businesses and Representatives of the Civil Society, as well as the youth of the region.

Introduction to the project program

The introductory meeting with the young people of the region, participants of the “Youth for Tourism” project took place on 27 July, 2020. This session was followed by 3 other meetings dedicated to the presentation of the program which took place on 4, 11 and 18 August, 2020 respectively.  The 30 participants that were registered in the beginning of each meeting, were introduced to the program; the main objectives and the activities. The overall objective of this project is to increase social inclusion of 30 young and vulnerable people of Rrogozhina Municipality, through promotion of humanism, voluntarism, personal and professional contribution to the social life of the community.

Training on "The organization and functioning of the NGO structure"

The first training, following the 4 introductory meetings, was on “The structure and the functioning of the NGO structure”. In these training activities they discussed about the definition of NGOs, their function and role in the society, how do they work, their structure, and how to found an NGO. The training took place over the span of two days, on the 21 and 22 August, 2020 at “Kompleksi Albatros” in Spille.

Training on "Tourist Guide and Hospitality"

The second training program was on “Tourist Guide and Hospitality”. This training falls under the specific objective to build and increase the professional capacities for young people as an important measurement for social inclusion. The training programs were carried out on 3, 5, 10 September, 2020, at “Kompleksi Albatros” in Spille. Part of the training was also the visit to Kalaja e Bashtoves, Plazhi Gjeneralit, and Guri i Lemuar on 12, 24, 29 September, 2020.

Social Media Marketing Training

The last training of Youth for Tourism project was on “Social Media Marketing”. The training covered topics of Marketing Strategy such as: digital marketing, social media marketing, market and customer analysis which are essential for preparing a business plan for local tourism guides including SWOT analysis, needs assessment, market value, etc. The workshops took place on 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, and 24 October, 2020,  “Kompleksi Albatros” in Spille.

Preparation of promotional materials for tourism

Following up the training programs on “Tourist Guide and Hospitality”, the participants took part in three workshops where they were taught how to prepare promotional materials for tourism in the most efficient way possible. This training falls under the specific objective to promote the tourism of the area as an employment and self-employment opportunity for the young people. The workshops took place on 1, 2 and 3 October, 2020,  “Kompleksi Albatros” in Spille.

Juljan Aga

Administrator

More than 15 years of work experience in various institutions. He is the Executive Director of PROGRESS Foundation, a foundation which manages and implements various projects in Albania. In 2012 he founded EPES Group, with the main focus on marketing business development, project management, media agency services, etc. He is currently the General Director of EPES Group and continues to cooperate with some of the most reputable companies in Albania and Southeast Europe. At the same time,  Mr. Juljan is the PR coordinator in this project.

Gentian Guni

Gentian Guni

Trainer

Msc. graduate in Marketing. During his studies he has completed a series of training programs and specializations, from which it’s worth mentioning the specialization carried out within the Erasmus program in 2018 at “Staffordshire University”. He currently works as a specialist near the Municipality of Elbasan. Mr. Gentian has been the president of the Elbasan Mountaineering Association for more than 6 years and a member of the Mountaineering Federation since 2009. He is also the CEO of a travel agency for over 2 years. Mr. Gentian is a licensed trainer and instructor for tourist guides in the Regional Directorate of the Vocational Training Center Elbasan.

Endri Caci

Endri Caci

Trainer

expert in Business Consulting. Graduated in Msc. Marketing & Business at the University of Tirana, he is currently completing an Msc. in Public administration. During his bachelor studies, Endri started working as a Retail Manager at the giant Inditex. Two years later, Mr. Caci became part of the ICB as a business consultant. His next work experience was near the IR Worldwide team as Project Manager for Albania and Macedonia. The projects have been mainly humanitarian intervention and the creation of sources of income for communities in need. From mid-2018 until now, he works as an executive in Brand Management in an international business group. Endri specializes as a Business and Marketing Trainer for Brands, NGOs and Individuals as a public image therapist.

Enisa Guni

Enisa Guni

Trainer

 Msc. graduate in Finance and currently works as Audit Analyst at Deloitte Albania Sh.p.k. In addition to her professional life, she is also engaged in the field of tourism. Mrs. Enisa has had several work experiences in the field of tourism, to mention a few: she has worked in the management of the “Albatros” Complex (family business) located in Spille, Rrogozhina, as a finance operator at Europa Travel & Tours, as a manager of “Albanian Sport & Tourism” travel agency, etc. Mrs. Enisa has participated in various trainings developed for tourism, and holds a certificate as “Tourist Guide” from the Regional Directorate of Vocational Training Elbasan.
